By Sadaket Malik Over time many families in   Kashmir   have migrated from one part to another in search of habitation and livelihood. Some of such families inhibited in a remote corner of Doda District (Bhalessa). When people of Bhalessa shared a belief in 1953 that how they can represent the democratic arena. One such families was the Batt family which migrated to the Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh while a few factions stayed in Bhalessa's Soti village. The family at Soti took up peasant work. Ghulam Rasool (Azad) was born in the year 1916 to this peasant family. Another family later which produced Munhshi Mohammed Anwer, traveled extensively from   Kashmir   by foot, as there was no transportation in place and the people had no access to information. *Sadaket Malik Nestling amongst high mountainous and cliffy terrain, off shooting high where skies are the limits, it is most prominent townships like  Bhalessa ,  Kahara, Basnota, Chilly and Pingal in Doda District.  These scattered areas located at a distance of 241 Kmts from the Jammu winter capital and 282 kilometers  from the Srinagar. These areas are in close proximity with each other including  Bhalessa ,  Chilly Pingal, Nanhota, Basnota, the area  is a single geographical unit and enjoy a distinct culture.            Bhalessa   is controlled by a Sub-Divisional Magistrate Gandoh  and other officers.  Bhalessa  and Bhaderwah comprise one assembly segment of Jammu and Kashmir, the fact that  Bhalessa -Bonjwah was a separate Assembly constituency and was attached with Bhaderwah for pettey political scores by tarnishing the cultural homogeneity of  Bhalessa  and its associated areas. Bhalessa residents resent over attachment with ADC Bhaderwah demanded delinking

JAMMU: October 25, 2017:               The inhabitants of  Bhalessa  have expressed resentment over the attachment of Sub Division  Bhalessa  with Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC Bhaderwah) without keeping in mind the proximity of the area and has demanded immediate withdrawal of the decision. It is unjust for the people of  Bhalessa  to visit 99 kilometers to Bhaderwah from Gandoh  Bhalessa  by crossing the district headquarter Doda that is only 66 kms away from   Bhalessa .  However Distance from remote villages of  Bhalessa  Like Khaljugasar, Manoo, Gingota to Bhaderwah is 115 kms           A meeting of senior citizens, and general public at large was convened today at Jammu to lodge the protest.    Bhalessa  is located at a distance of 241 Kmts from the Jammu winter capital and 282 kmts from the Srinagar, Presently  Bhalessa  is an administrative unit of Doda headquarter at Gandoh. Jammu: November 22, 2017:           A massive protest demonstration was staged by the residents of  Bhalessa opposite  Press  Club Jammu demanding hill district status to  Bhalessa  and detachment of  Bhalessa  from the jurisdiction of ADC Bhaderwah that is more than 100 Kilometers from  Bhalessa  Gandoh.           The speakers highlighted that  Bhalessa  areas have been attached to Bhaderwah ADC without the consent of the people; previously the area of  Bhalessa has been with ADC Doda i.e only 66 Kms from Gandoh. Now the inhabitants of  Bhalessa  can’t travel 115 average kms to reach Bhaderwah for administrative work.   The residents has demanded immediate withdrawal for the Government order and asked the Chief Minister for early detachment from ADC Bhaderwah and attachment with ADC Doda. The residents have demanded separate ADC Post for  Bhalessa and its adjoining Tehsils.           It is worth to mention here that  Bhalessa  comprise of  Kahara, Chilly Pingal, Gandoh, Neeli

Bhalessa Heritage Society initiated Mass Signature campaign for Hill District

Bhalessa;  Bhalessa  heritage Society in collaboration with NSWA held an emergency meeting at jammu and  launched signature campaign in favour of demands of  Bhalessa  including Hill District status to Three Tehsils, change of ADC jurisdiction from Bhaderwah to  Bhalessa  with saparate ADC, establishment of Degree college in areas of Chilly pingal, Kahara, community polytechnic colleges for Gandoh,Chilly pingal and Kahara. Blacktopping of all link roads and road conectivity to the areas hitherto unreached areas like Kota Bonencha, Creation of offices of DFO, Social forestry, and the allied. The organisations has collected 100 signatures from senior citizens on day one today. The signature campaign will be organized at ward level to forward the same to government for early concede of these demands said  Sadaket Malik, social activist of the area.  *By Sadaket Malik                            Bhalessa as it is commonly called comprised of the twin valleys of Bonjwah drained and carved by the rivulets and Bhalessa drained by Kalgoni stream whereas the former emerges from the mountain ranges of Chamba near the Sach Peak. The later emerges from the Katari range near Son Bain (Golden Spring) mountain. The two rivults unite near Donadi, a few miles above Thathri on the National Highway 1 B where it finally merges into the Chenab River. The main divisions viz a viz locations are Neeli, Jatota, Pingal, Chilli, Nanota and Basnota. By road, bus services from Doda connect Bhalessa. Bhalessa had come into existence in the year 1948 and its Headquarter is located at a distance of 241 Kmts from the Jammu winter capital and 282 kmts from the Srinagar, the summer capital of the state. JAMMU: November 7, 2017: A massive Protest demonstration was staged by the students of Bhalessa studying in various colleges and Different departments of Jammu University here today opposite Press club Jammu. The students were demanding immediate cration of the post of Additional Deputy Commissioner for Bhalessa. The area of Bhalessa has been attached under ADC Bhaderwah that is more than 100 Kms from Gandoh Bhalessa.  Previously, Bhalessa was a part of ADC Doda i.e only 66 Kms from Gandoh. Now the inhabitants of  Bhalessa can’t travel 100 kms to reach Bhaderwah for administrative work.  The students were demanded immediate withdrawal of this order and detachment from Bhaderwah for administrative convenience.             It is worth to mention here that Bhalessa comprise of  Kahara, Chilly Pingal, Gandoh, Neeli Khaljugasar,  Chilly  Area, Jitota area, Halaran, Joda and Soti Changa Klhotran. Sadaket Malik B halessa-comprises valleys of Gandoh, Chilly Pingal, Jitota, Basnota, kahara and Nanhota. It includes Gandoh upto Khaljugasar straddling boarder with chamba District, Chilly Pingal  and Kahara Malano upto the rivulets of Donadi. Bhalessa Heritage Centre demanded enquiry into killing of a student

Bhalessa Heritage Centre has demanded magisterial enquiry into the killing of one young student on Thathri Kilhotran road by unidentified vehicle. The BHC has expressed concern over the traffic chaos in the area and has demanded immediate opening of permanent check post for the area to check rough driving. The NGO has asked the District Megistrate and local administration  to take steps to ensure right to life of the citizens. The NGO has demanded high level inquiry into the killing Young boy Shabir Ahmed S/o Haji kaloo Kataria dhadkai. He was a student of 10th class.
