Bhalessa Students Protest at Press Club Jammu demanded delinking from ADC Bhaderwah Jurisdiction
JAMMU: November 7, 2017: A massive Protest demonstration was staged by the students of Bhalessa studying in various colleges and Different departments of Jammu University here today opposite Press club Jammu. The students were demanding immediate cration of the post of Additional Deputy Commissioner for Bhalessa. The area of Bhalessa has been attached under ADC Bhaderwah that is more than 100 Kms from Gandoh Bhalessa. Previously, Bhalessa was a part of ADC Doda i.e only 66 Kms from Gandoh. Now the inhabitants of Bhalessa can’t travel 100 kms to reach Bhaderwah for administrative work. The students were demanded immediate withdrawal of this order and detachment from Bhaderwah for administrative convenience.
It is worth to mention here that Bhalessa comprise of Kahara, Chilly Pingal, Gandoh, Neeli Khaljugasar, Chilly Area, Jitota area, Halaran, Joda and Soti Changa Klhotran. There huge landmass need an administrative convenience and Government should concede the demand of the local masses at an earliest.
Speaking on the Occasion, Sadaket Malik, Social Activist of the area said that In Bhalessa has time and again divided and its cultural canvas has been deteriorated. For administrative convenience, The Additional District Megsitrate is the cry of the hour.
The speakers said that Bhalessa ranked 3rd in Doda District in terms of Population. It ranked 60th in the state. The Population of the area is 83636 as per census records; there are 66 Revenue Villages, 52 Panchayats in Bhalessa. The distance From District Headquarter Doda to Gandoh to Doda is 66 kilometers whereas the distance from Gnadoh Bhalessa to Bhaderwah is 96 kilometers. Distance from farthest villages Like Khaljugasar, Manoo from Bhaderwah is 115 kms. Chilly Pingal to Doda is 68 kilometers, Bhaderwah is 98 Kilometers. Tehsil HQ Gandoh to Doda is 66 Kilometers.
The protesters said that the public resentment is seen in these areas against the move of attachment of Bhalessa with ADC Bhaderwah and masses are on roads for withdrawal of these areas from ADC Bhalderwah. The fact in that ADC Post for Bhaderwah has been created by the government without consulting the lakhs of population. The ADC post for Bhaderwah has been created under ambiguous facts and need immediate withdrawal to defy any loss in future due to the coming up of mass scale protests at all levels said a spokesman Ishtiaq Naik.
The protestors have given 30 days’ ultimatum to the Government for conceding the demand. The students have demanded Chief Minister’s intervention.
